Had a rough night last night. Decided to go to bed early (9pm-ish) and woke up around midnight unable to fall back asleep! I tossed and turned for what seemed like hours and the started to get nauseated. Not evil morning sickness pregnancy nausea, but low blood sugar because the little peanuts are sucking my life force nausea. So I went down and had a small bowl of cereal with almond milk (closest thing to diary I can tolerate right now). In my mind I miss ice cream, but my stomach is still saying no no. Anyways, I did feel better afterwards so I went back to bed, hopeful to catch some zzz's. Unfortunately my body had other plans... Evil, horrid morning sickness nausea came along and stole any hope I had of relaxing. I cannot wait for this trimester to be over, if only to get rid of the nausea! And the fatigue.
In the end I fell asleep and actually got in a few hours of "quality" sleep around 6am. Thankfully I didn't have to work today! The sleep hasn't been as restful these days though thanks to the constant nighttime bathroom breaks and the crazy weird dreams I've been having. Nothing that I really remember at the end of the day, but vivid enough where I wake up and like WTF?!
So far week 10 hasn't been overall exciting. I still haven't gained any weight and am starting to worry, but thankfully I'm due for another sonogram on Friday. Very interested in seeing what the little munchkins are up to in there! I've been reading pregnancy forums like crazy and most say that it's norm to lose weight during the first trimester due to morning sickness and its okay as long as the babies are growing. I still haven't "popped", but my occasional sciatica and lower back pain will attest that something is going on down there. We shall have to wait and see!
On a non-baby note, I'm so happy that Brandon decided to take the day off Friday to come with me to my appointment! We've decided to celebrate Valentine's day at Jaleo in Bethesda for lunch! Nom nom! Plus they are still having their DC restaurant week menu! Delish tapas for $20?! Yes please!

Holy Cup Size Batman!
I have a feeling this pregnancy is about to kick into full gear very soon. Not just because I'm almost at the end of my first tirmester, but because I had to do something that I haven't done since middle school... Bra shopping. Not just any ordinary bra shopping (obviously I do buy new bras every now and then), but upgrading to a new cup size!!!
I am officially a C cup! I know this isn't a big deal to most women, especially if you are already well endowed, but for someone how has only gone from a AA to B it's a big deal! They always say that your breast will get bigger during pregnancy, I just didn't think it would happen this soon. Honestly, I thought I'd never see a C cup bra unless I got implants. I guess this is in preparation for all the additional "growing" we're suppose to experience in the near future?
I'm curious to see how I look preganant. Unfortunately I'm not showing yet. Too early apparently, even though some people do start showing early when with twins. A small group of women "pop" as the baby websites put it, as early as 8 weeks with twins, but the average is 12-16 weeks. This is still earlier than the average for most singleton pregnacy, which start to show at around 20 weeks.
I guess the fact that my chest is getting bigger is a good sign of my prenancy progressing, as the reverse is happening regarding my weight. Due to all the nausea, food aversion, and eating smaller proportions, I've actually loss weight rather than gain. Thankfully it's not uncommon in the first trimester and according to my OB, it's okay as long as I don't lose more than 10 lbs. I'll have to talk to him about this soon, as I've already lost 6 lbs in the past month. Since I started off overweight, I don't think it's adversely affecting the babies, but I'll have to discuss this issue during my next visit.
For now, I'm enjoying my good days when I can! Every now and then those pregnancy symptoms rear their ugly little heads, but I'm trying to enjoy them for what they are... Small sacrifices in this amazing journey they we have started :)

Week 8
I've actually been feeling 80% better the past few days since my first sonogram. I know this makes most moms-to-be freak out, but I haven't had any cramping or bleeding so I'm assuming everything is still "boring" as one of my OB's puts it. Of course there are those pesky reminders that rear their heads, reminding me that I'm still pregnant = nausea. It usually hits me at the most inconvenient times like when I'm trying to sleep or in the morning when I'm trying to sleep in :( Could this be the quiet before the storm? As my OB mentioned, the symptoms are likely to get worst before they get better?!
One of the perks of having a working relationship with your OB/GYN group is that you can track them down at work for any questions or concerns. I work in a recovery room at one of the hospitals that the doctors operate and deliver in. Yesterday, I ran into Dr. L at work and inquired about the recent slurry of blood tests they drew on my last visit. He was able to show me my results on a nearby computer. Thankfully everything was well within normal ranges! I found out that my blood type is B+, my glucose was 84, my thyroid levels normals, and of course I'm HIV negative among other things. I also mentioned the morning sickness at night and he recommend me try half a pill of Unisom to help with the nausea and sleep. I do have a prescription for Zofran, but I don't think it's gotten that bad yet.
Can't wait for my second sonogram in two weeks! Hoping that the little peanuts are okay :)
